"Happy Half-Birthday to Yoooooooooooooou!"

"Wait, half birthday?!?!?" Yes, half birthday. The kid was born Christmas morning, give me a break.

So for Kellan's half birthday (yes, half birthday, get over it), we took her to one of those indoor bounce parks for the first time. At first I felt like I was torturing my child by shoving her into the little tiny openings into the moon walk thingys. (Yes, thingys. I made it up for a lack of a better definition. Get over that too.) Once she realized that it didn't hurt to face plant, she loved it.

After Bounce-a-lot, we took her out to eat to Pizza Hut (we're all class here). All and all it was a cute afternoon. I like bonding with my doodlebug.

P.S. Wear long pants and shirts to avoid vinyl burn.

"I'll tell you how I became the princess of a town called Bellaire"

"In East T-town born and raised
On the playground where I spent most of my days
Chilling out, maxing, relaxing all cool......"

Okay, okay enough. So it's been awhile since I've logged onto this bad boy. I'd like to blame it entirely all on vacation, but that wouldn't be completely true. Truth is I totally forgot I had a blogspot. Oops.

This past weekend we went up to Steve's parent's cottage in Bellaire for a little R&R and to prepare for their annual Fourth of July "bash". Kellan had a blast up there! That kid wanted in that lake first thing in the morn. It didn't matter that it was 60 degrees out at 8:00 am and the water was freezing. She's nuts.

Besides diving into the Arctic at the crack of dawn, she also got a big kick four wheelin' it with Dora across the open prairie lands (compared to our dinky property we were in the vast lands up there...). Can't wait to go again next week!

Happy First Birthday Meah!

Yesterday Kellan got to go to her cousin Meah's 1st birthday party! Despite the humidity, we had lots of fun. Luckily, Uncle James and Aunt Chrissy live on a lake for us to go swimming! Kellan also got to hang out in the moonwalk for a bit while all the big kids went tubbing. What a rough life, kid.

HAPPY 27th BIRTHDAY STEPHEN!!!!!

Ode to the Summer Sun

Dear Michigan,

Thank you for finally showing us something other than a frozen wasteland. May was way colder than it needed to be. A word of advice though, dear Glove I love, seasonal transitional intoith.
Translation: Killing my flowers one night with frost than producing a slip-and-slide on my hardwood floors with your humidity the following day is just plain mean.

Hey, at least the babe enjoyed it!

Cocoa Bean Update

For those who have asked, Cocoa Bean the Cat is doing JUST fine around these parts. He's taken up residents in the coziest of all places, in Kellan's nursery. Hey, if I were him I'd call dibs on the prettiest room in the house too!
